After the demolishing of the existing Allandale Road Bridge, the Interchange traffic routing has changed. Please also note that Old Pretoria Main Road will function as a One-way from Barlow Road southbound towards Allandale Road in Phase 2’s configuration. 2nd November Sweep - Nature Reserve

During the operation no stolen goods were found or any criminal activity were present, and the situation will be monitored to determine if the old dwellings are re-erected. No arrests were made during the operation. There is still a lot of rubble and graffiti indicating that people are loitering in the area.

Four people were found in the Reserve and were escorted off the premises. The wooden dwelling that was found in the previous sweep had not been re-erected, however the team found one male at the same location who was cutting wood for rebuilding. He was confronted and removed, and the building materials were destroyed.

EMM warns about posters

Individuals and businesses who put up posters in Ekurhuleni without council approval may face a fine of up to R20 000. Ekurhuleni Metro removes about 3 000 illegal posters a month in Ekurhuleni. These are attached to traffic lights, lamp poles and often nailed into trees. Illegal posters are not only an eyesore, Mr Zweli Dlamini explains, but rob the area of aesthetic beauty as they clutter the view and contribute to littering.
